Put a Bird on it!Put a Bird on it!

Hello all, long time no see!  I recently was introduced to Portlandia and find it to be most hilarious because I think Austin is a lot like Portland so the jokes really hit home with me.  Here's my favorite skit so far, I am totally guilty of the bird obsession and always think something is cute if it has a bird on it. (hello, I named this store Peacock Plume!)

PUT. A. BIRD. ON. IT!

Lately, the web is abuzz about a truly awesome and unique photographer, Seth Casteel. He has an entire website dedicated to pet photograhy. My favorite section is the underwater dogs.  They are hilarious, a tad scary, and totally fun! Check them out here and enjoy!

I came across this article from Glamour Magazine and feel like it's a good representation of what is on-trend and what Peacock Plume's spring line will contain.

I'm not someone who watches lots of YouTube videos but I saw this Jimmy Kimmel video challenge and thought it was one of the cutest things I've ever seen! If you haven't seen it, check it out:

How To: Fishtail BraidHow To: Fishtail Braid

Whenever I see a girl's hair in an adorable fishtail braid I immediately get envious and then wonder how she does it.  I found this video online and thought it did a pretty good job of giving step-by-step instructions.  My hair is too short for this (although I did try and it looked horrible) but if your hair is long you should give it a try! I think this braid with a cute headband would get lots of positive attention.

Cara and I had lots of fun in NYC!  Not only did we get a ton of awesome stuff for spring, but we got to have some fun in a cool city as well.  We hit up a couple museums, took a stroll in Central Park, saw Anything Goes on Broadway (I highly recommend, it was adorable) and consumed lots of good food and wine!

We Love NYWe Love NY

Cara and I are attending our first NYC buying trip this weekend!  We typically go to the Las Vegas market but since we aren't really the Vegas types, we decided to go to New York! We have a bit of an itinerary (yes, I'm a planner) because we have lots of sightseeing to do before we have to report to the Convention Center for all-day shopping sprees!

Some of the things on my list are seeing the Rockefeller Center Tree before they tear it down, ice skating, Guggenheim, Natural Science Museum, Central Park, and lots of eating in between!

It's no secret that I really like Pinterest.  I always find amazing recipes and DIY ideas on this all too time-consuming site! I needed to impress someone so I decided to try this french-inspired recipe out:
